idem GmbH
History
idem transport solutions was founded in 2004, as part of idem GmbH, to provide transport operators with clear guidance in the areas of refrigeration, temperature recording, loading and telematics. With more than 10 years experience in these specific areas of the world of transport we offer, from a neutral perspective, a goal-oriented overview of the capabilities of existing tools and techniques that may be utilised with onboard equipment.
Our solutions
Our flexible business solutions may be utilised for all vehicle types such as trucks, trailers, swap bodies etc and in a wide range of applications e.g. temperature control, positioning, historical traveled routes, travel / life identification, documentation of all door activities with alarm messages (SMS, email), collection of technical data from EBS systems. They incorporate very simple, manageable and scalable software options via the Internet.
Our strength
Whether as a stand-alone product for the trailer or as "total telematics" system by coupling with a tractor system (navigation, integration of job or driver communication) - idem makes available the necessary components to identify customer specific requirements and provide innovative solutions.
Importantly we offer complete neutrality. Our products are independent of trailer manufacturer and are compatible with each and every type of refrigeration system.
Our goal
Our objective is to ensure that our customers see us as competent in the important areas of quality control, safety evaluation, and fleet management, with assistance in the day- to-day operation of the fleet, brought about by simplifying
Why Trailer Telematics?
In our opinion there is clear evidence that:
- One of the most important things in business is the transport of goods. Consequently it is important to be able to monitor the goods throughout the entire journey. Therefrore monitoring the trailer, which includes the goods, becomes a crucial issue. Even a parked trailer must be independently monitored by the tractor.
- This is especially the case in refrigertaed transport where the data relevant to the perishable goods, such as temperatures, door openings, etc. is normally held on the trailer.
- Electronic tachographs, journey time control, tolls, higher diesel prices, tight time window, JIT traffic, - all these factors pushing the industry more and more towards the Staffettenläufe. That is why it is becoming incresingly important to monitor the performance of the trailer.
- The increasing use of external services for individual shipments or sub contract hauliers clearly demonstrate the necessity for surveillance of the trailer.
- Finally, more and more trailer-owners want more information about the condition and location of their fleet in order to simplify preventive maintenance, and determine optimum vehicle replacement intervals.
